February 17th, 2007
ILL_0003.jpg

A FEW MONTHS AGO I SPENT THE DAY WITH PAUL COX AND THE INDIAN LARRY LEGACY CREW. WHEN I ASKED PAUL WHICH BIKES I COULD SHOW, AND WHICH I COULD NOT, THIS BIKER BUILD OFF BIKE WAS THE ONE. THERE WAS ALSO A BIKE ON THE LIFT THAT WAS FOR A CUSTOMER THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL OF WHICH I COULDN’T SHOOT, BUT I MAY HAVE TO RETURN AND ASK AGAIN FOR THAT ONE.

PRESS RELEASE.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.

New Metric Classes added for the 35th anniversary of the Rats Hole Custom Bike Show

For the past 35 years the Rats Hole Custom Bike Showhas offered its Daytona Bike Week fans a glimpse at the finest custom motorcycles from all around the globe. Considered by many as the Mac-Daddy of all custom bike shows, the Rats Hole has maintained it’s Iconic industry stature by consistently assembling world’s premier custom motorcycles. The Show has literally been the launch bed for today’s top motorcycle builders, and this Years Show (March 10th) will be no exception.

In addition to marking the Rats Hole’s 35th Anniversary, this year will also mark the institution of several new Metric Motorcycle Classes (see bellow) including new Sportbike and Cruiser Classes. To highlight the addition of these landmark classes, show Promoter Ted Smith, commissioned two prominent Florida Motorcycle Builders to design and build the first ever Rats Hole themed Sportbike, the “Track Rat” (see illustration).

Design and Illustration by Adam Canni– Canni Design

The “Track Rat” is the result of the collaborative efforts of Nick Anglada, of Custom Sportbike Concepts and Adam Canni of Canni Design. Anglada has built his reputation as Florida’s premier builder of “Fast Art on Two Wheels”, one hard-earned bike build at a time. Recent accomplishments include being featured on the Metric Revolution Metric Revolution , an upcoming ESPN2 TV reality show, along with countless trophies and features in Super Street Bike and Two Wheel Turner magazines.

Canni, who will also be featured on the Metric Revolution series, has built his reputation by providing Industrial Design Services to many of the motorcycle industries top product companies including Kuryakyn , and Arlen Ness . Canni’s recent accomplishments include a second place finish at the Rats Hole last fall, along with numerous features in Road Bike Magazine, and Yamaha’s annual calendar.

Canni and Anglada have teamed up to create the “Track Rat” a “Super (Ratical) Radical” single sided swing armed Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 that will be debuted at this years Rats Hole Custom Bike Show. The “Track Rat” will feature a unique one off fairing and body work, along with aggressive Rats Hole colors and graphics. In addition, the “Track Rat” will include racer styled number plaques adorned with the number 73, significant because 1973 was the first official year for the now legendary motorcycle event. So if you’re planning to attend Daytona Bike Week 2007 stop by the Daytona Lagoon Complex on March 10th (located at 601 Earl St.) and check out the debut of this awesome machine. Hey, maybe you have a hot Metric Custom that you would like to show off. Well this is your chance to show the best builders in the world, what you’ve got! Due to limited space, pre-registration is recommended, so go to the Rats Hole Website to pre-register for the show Rat-away!
